Fantasy Poster

On this poster I wanted to try something different. We were told to make a fantasy poster and I thoughtI would try something simple but not normal. I used two different tutorials to help me create this poster. In the beginning i had to take the fairy from it original picture and put her in the city picture. I wasn't quit sure how to do that without leaving some of the background in the picture until I used a tutorial to help me. After I placed her in the city picture, I thought fairy dust would look cool surrounding her. So I used a tutorial to guide me on how to create fairy dust. After the dust was created I added the moon just so the right side didn't look so empty and it really goes with the picture!

Hope For A Cure (Social Awareness)

-In this project we were direct to create a social awareness poster. In my specific project I was informing people on the World AIDS epidemic. What I wanted was for people to understand that there still is not a cure and that the victims are hoping for a cure.

I used a tutorial to learn how to delete the unwanted space that i didn't want from the original pill picture. I learned that the delete on the keyboard does not always work so the clear button in the edit drop down menu also worked.

Above are the pictures I gathered to make the final product which you will see at the end of this post. I traced the hand and cut them out and made a copy of them to make them look like there is many more. Then I changed the transparency on some of the hands to make them lighter and darker. Then I added a simple background and some clouds to get the sky effect. Then I created this.

Name Logos

This logo was made in illustrator. This was created using the text tool and ligatures were used to also create this logo This was one of the easier logos to create because linking the letters together was not that difficult. The red star just adds something different to the whole logo.

This logo was also made in illustrator. I created a black circle and used white text to create my initials in the circle. This was a simple and fast design to create and it is actually one of my favorites. It wasn't the difficult to create because the the text fits the circle.
This logo was another made in illustrator. Again I used text that didn't show too much. I aligned my last name under and to the right of my first name to make it look different the just stacking text. Then I added a yellow circle to the left side to make the name stand out more.

Project Description: We were assigned by our teacher to start a new project in class. We had to make examples of stacked text, figured ground reversal, and symbol replacements. at the top of the picture I constructed 4 figure ground reversal with different colors and different types of fonts. The underneath I constructed stacked text with different short letter words. The on the bottom I constructed symbol replacements. These consist of words that have letters than can be replaced by a symbol and still be able to read.

New Skills, Processes & New Tools Learned: In this project I learned how to create outlines around text and letters. I also learned how to create outlines around pictures to make them shapes from the original web image.

Tools: Rectangle Tool, Pathfinder, and Create Outlines.

Self Reflection: This project was my strongest on I have conducted. I am honestly not of fan of illustrator because it has too many different ways on how to do something. A lot of it is very confusing but for the most part I believe I did okay.

Exploring Ai :)

Project Description: This project was also done in my graphic design class. We were directed to basically explore and try new things out on Adobe illustrator. We had to draw objects with the pen tool, pencil tool, and the shape tool. This was a difficult task for me because it was hard trying to get the hang of the different tools.

New Skills, Processes, & Tools Learned:

  • Pen Tool
  • Pencil Tool
  • Shape Tool
  • Anchor Tool

Self Reflection: I believe I did an okay job on this task. It was very difficult for me to create the old key and the two hands. I still can not quite get the concept of using the pen tool. Maybe its just not one of my strong areas for illustrator.

Spaceship Design !

Project Description: This was a project that was done in my graphic design class. We were told to use adobe illustrator, which was the first time for most of us. For me I found the project difficult at time because some of the tools on this program were very challenging. I honestly think i did a great job with my spaceship with it being my first time using this program. Also we were given a tutorial to follow. This also made the task kind of challenging because instead of it being shown as a visual it was described in words. It made it harder to follow along because at time it wasn't that easy to understand what the author was trying to get across. My hardest challenge for this project would have to be the wings for the spaceship. In the tutorial it didn't explain in great words how to subtract the other image. But other than that I believe I did a good job.

New Skills, Processes, & Tools Learned:
  • Pathfinder
  • Shape Tool
  • Gradient Tool
Self Reflection: As a first time Adobe Illustrator user, I believe that I did a great job. This project wasn't the easiest to understand and it did take a while for me to get the hang of. I honestly think I could have done better on the flames to the spaceship. I feel that they are to thick and is basically the same size of the  actually ship. I also think that I could of done better on the wings. The tutorial was no very clear on how to make them but I think I did pretty good. Other than that, my project came out really good for a first time user.
